The guys at Cheeky tried to do some skiing but since there wasn’t any snow they had to fish instead. Ahh, rats!
Using the interwebs to help me socially drink, not a bad idea. Now if only they did this with a good beer, like PBR!!
This video just made my jaw drop and now all I can think about is hot top water action for reds!!!
Sorry that we have been away for so long! It was a fun holiday and a great end to the Chinook season. Â We were enjoying our time off and are looking forward to a great 2012.
The winter Steelhead are arriving in numbers and it is time to get our fish on! Dang, I can’t wait!
Here is a really well made fishing video. It is basically a long commercial for Alaska West but it has some great shots and it is getting us even more excited about our backcountry float up in AK this next summer!!
Tuesday night: finish some work, go check out a snowmobile, eat some food, play some soccer, do some laundry and re-learn how to use my avalanche beacon. Sounds like a decent night, eh? To top it all off I get to enjoy a delicious Panamanian beer.
One of my good buddies here in Eugene knows how much we enjoy a good brew and decided to bring a couple beers back for us after his recent trip to Panama. There isn’t anything better than a nice exotic beer to help me figure out how I am supposed to work one of those tricky avalanche beacons. Luckily the video that came with the beacon features Legos. I love Legos!
On previous trips my buddy had brought back the creatively named Panama Beer, but this time he brought back this sick looking bottle of Atlas.
I can’t read Spanish but luckily Lager seems to be the same word in English and Spanish. Since the label covers the whole bottle I can’t even get a look at the beer, but given that it’s from a tropical country I am guessing that it’s going to be clear, tasty and refreshing.
Appearance: Super clear with lots of bubbles. Not much head at all. Easily the lightest colored beer I have ever poured into a glass.
Smell: Clean and lagery.
Taste/Mouthfeel: Refreshing. Nothing special, just drinkable lager. Given that the bottle is only 10 ounces or so and how easy this stuff goes down you could probably drink a dozen and not even notice.
Overall: If I’m ever in Panama Atlas will probably be my beer of choice, it doesn’t have that ultra yeasty flavor that you get in a lot of tropical beers, just smooth drinkin’!
