Another Taimen Video Plus Some Info About Them

Here is a nice Mikey Wier video that has some good footage starting around the 2:45 mark and a nice big Taimen at the end. I realized after posting the previous videos that a lot of people have never heard of Taimen and don’t understand the danger they are in. I found a great National Geographic article that gives you background information on Taimen and the dangers they are facing. “A ferocious and even cannibalistic predator, Taimen can grow more than six feet (up to two meters) in length and can weigh up to 200 pounds (91 kilograms). But like many other freshwater giants around the world, the Taimen is now threatened with extinction. ” These beautiful beasts are disappearing in Russia and China; Mongolia is their last stronghold.
