Rainbow Trout win the first Cheeky Fly Fishing March Madness Road to the Final Fish competition. Rainbow trout had a tough path to the finals having to beat Pike, Sea Run Brown Trout, Atlantic Salmon and the tournament favorite, Tarpon, along the way. In the finals they finished their tournament run beating Bonefish with 53.7% of the vote. Stan E. Bogdan the creator of the S.E. Bogdan Fly Reels passed away a week ago Sunday. He was an innovator and artist with his work. S.E. Bogdan Fly Reels are some of the most beautiful and sought after fly reels in the history of Fly Fishing.
These reels are so highly prized that they actually cost more used than they do new. The S.E. Bogdan Reels are not only beautifully crafted works of art but they are amazingly smooth and effective reels. If you are lucky enough to own a S.E. Bogdan Reel then you understand that the value of these reels truly comes from the craftsman who built them, Stan E. Bogdan.

We here at Tasty-Takes were trying to come up with an easy, fun way to express how much we enjoy each beer that we review. The solution was the Six Pack Scale. For each beer that is reviewed the reviewer will rank how much he liked or disliked the beer on a scale of 1 to 6. Pretty simple, right?
Six out of Six:
Unbelievable. Upon drinking you see double rainbows everywhere. You can put casts anywhere you want. The fish eat anything that you put in the water and they are all over 20″ long. The best thing I have ever tasted.

The guys over at Cheeky Fly Fishing put together an amazing tournament for a great cause. March is the month of brackets and they made a tough one. 32 fish were selected to do battle and only one will be crowned champ. The entry fee was a donation of $5 with all the proceeds going to The Bonefish and Tarpon Trust, Casting for Recovery, and Stripers Forever.
The Finals are on NOW!! The final contest is between Rainbow Trout and Bonefish. And Bonefish needs your help! Yes, we are shamelessly asking you to vote for Bonefish. Why, you ask? Because Chris is going to come in second in the whole tourney if Bonefish win. That’s right people, the brains, brawn and driving force here at Tasty-Takes is a bit of a Nostradamus. The voting is open to the public and you can vote here. Let’s go Bonefish!!!
Even though it is too late to enter the contest remember that these organizations can always use your help. Check out their websites for more information.
A UMaine professor and an undergraduate student have come up with the next big thing to hit the Golf Courses–Lobster Golf Balls. These are not made to be ingested. They are purely for hitting. So the next time you are hitting golf balls after drinking a few too many beers don’t worry about slicing into the woods just use golf balls made from lobsters. Continue reading

Except for a few lucky individuals who live on the water, you need transportation in order to go fishing, and our transportation was busted. You know your vehicle isn’t working quite right when your brakes are smoking. Smoking brakes are never a good thing – especially when driving on flat ground and you haven’t even used the brakes! I’m no mechanic, but the phrase “No Bueno†comes to mind.
